Yahoo launches Glue Pages Beta in India
May 8th, 2008 by VipulYahoo launched a new search concept, called Glue Beta pages on Thursday and India is the first market in which Glue Pages Beta is being launched.
“We have chosen India for a variety of reasons. First India is a very strategic market for Yahoo. Also, Yahoo’s commitment for India has gone up recently,” Yahoo India’s Head of Audience, Gopal Krishna, said.
He said that India was shifting to innovation, particularly local innovation, and this was another factor that has spurred Yahoo to make India its launching pad.
Glue Pages Beta collates and integrates the best information from across the web on a single topical page. It is currently available for select search terms across categories such as health, sports, entertainment, travel, technology and finance.
Glue Pages Beta results are displayed alongside the usual Yahoo!India search results.
The concept uses intuitive search technology to identify the most relevant search queries alongside classic Yahoo India search results.
